Protecting 2nd Amendment Rights: Russ's Commitment to Oregon and Congress

Understanding the 2nd Amendment

The 2nd Amendment is seen by Russ as a cornerstone of American freedom, symbolizing the importance of self-defense and personal liberty. It is one of our most important personal freedoms along with freedom of speech and religion. 

In Oregon the state has a rich history of firearm ownership and many residents are deeply committed to preserving and enhancing their right to bear arms. But too many Democrats in Oregon keep trying to reduce these rights with irrational restrictions - such as magazine size restrictions. It seems for some they would like to eliminate the 2nd Amendment altogether.. 

Russ will do everything in his power to preserve our cherished 2nd Amendment rights at both the Congressional level as well as in Oregon as a political voice. He will oppose excessive gun restrictions Democrats seem to be constantly proposing. He will use his office in DC and in Oregon to comment and debate against any organization in the state as to why we need to protect this very important right.

This is part of the fight that Russ promises to bring to this office. Not to just sit in DC and pass legislation,  but to also be involved in Oregon politics since this position is the only Republican position in the Oregon delegation. 

Russ is a Certified NRA Handgun Instructor

Russ believes that education plays a crucial role in promoting safe gun practices. He is a Certified NRA Handgun Instructor and was also a weapons instructor in the US Marine Corps. He knows that safety comes first with all gun ownership and has taught Marines and civilians how to safely handle a gun. He believes that every child in Oregon could benefit from gun safety instruction since they are a popular weapon for personal safety in Oregon.
