He is the only veteran running in this race—a United States Marine who enlisted at 18, served three years on active duty with a 15-month overseas deployment during wartime, and received an honorable discharge.

Russ understands veteran issues from personal experience, including the challenges of healthcare, benefits, transition to civilian life, and the lasting impact of service-related disabilities. No one else in the field can speak with that same credibility and passion on behalf of Oregon’s veterans.

With an MBA, a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) credentials, and decades of real-world experience as Chief Investment Officer and business leader, Russ actually understands federal budgets and the crushing weight of national debt.
